Ans: Operating System: An Operating System is a software which performs all the basic tasks like booting the computer, file management, memory management, process management, and controlling peripheral devices such as hard disk, printer, etc. 

Examples: DOS, Windows, Linux.

Q1: Describe the steps involved in problem solving.  Ans:  1) Define the problem:  In problem solving process, the first step is defining or identifying the problem. It is the most difficult and the most important of all the steps. During this stage of problem solving, it is important to describe the problem.  2) Generate alternative solutions: For any problem, there are more solutions to it than the one that is thought of first.
